Primary care for the whole family.

Wellness, sick visits and ongoing care — in office in Mesquite or by telehealth across Texas.

What primary care covers here

Primary care is the ongoing relationship where most health needs are handled: staying well, getting seen when you are sick, and managing conditions over time. As a family nurse practitioner I care for patients across the age range, from well child visits through adult and older adult care.

Preventive and wellness visits

Annual physicals, well woman exams for ages 21 and older, well child visits, and preventative health exams. These visits review your history, screenings appropriate for your age, immunization status, and the things that are worrying you.

Sick visits

Coughs, colds, sore throats, urinary symptoms, infections, rashes and similar acute concerns. Many can be handled by telehealth; some need to be seen in the office. If you are unsure, call and we will sort it out.

Ongoing and chronic care

Follow up visits and medication refills for conditions managed over time. Laboratory monitoring may be ordered when clinically appropriate for your condition or medication.

Forms and physicals

Sports physicals for school and league participation.

This page is general health education, not individual medical advice, and it does not create a patient-provider relationship. Speak with Carolyn Ortiz, FNP-C about your own situation.

When primary care is not the right place

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of stroke, severe bleeding, or any situation you believe is life threatening. This clinic does not provide emergency care, and this website is not a channel for urgent problems.
